Jackalope Lodge, in Lanark County, is only an hour away from downtown Ottawa, 20 minutes from Pakenham, and 40 minutes from Arnprior.
Pakenham is known for the five-arch stone bridge that crosses the Mississippi River, built in 1901 (no affiliation with the river in the US) and is home to the best ice cream in the area. ‘Scoops Ice Cream’ has continually won the best ice cream place in the Ottawa region over the years. You can’t miss it as you must drive by it to get to Jackalope Lodge. The General store is also located in Pakenham which is stocked with homemade products ranging from jewelry to hand knitted items to mouthwatering baked goods and by far the best bread we have had. It is a place that you must enter and see with your own eyes.
Forgot something? Cedar Cove Resort is just 10 minutes away. This little store will provide you with what you need. Fishing Licenses are sold here as well. Cedar Cove Resort also hosts an array of events throughout the year. Please check out their website www.cedarcove.ca
